GOLDEN DEWDROP

The smooth semi-spherical faces of this piece are pierced to reveal a golden dewdrop. The treatment simulates the Japanese art form of kintsukuroi (to repair with gold). This art of repairing pottery with gold or silver lacquer is based on the belief that the piece is more beautiful for having been broken.
